The 2017 Southeastern Louisiana Lions football team represented Southeastern Louisiana University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Lions were led by sixth-year head coach Ron Roberts and played their home games at Strawberry Stadium. They were a member of the Southland Conference. Ron Roberts (American Football)
Ron Roberts (born October 9, 1967) is an American football coach who currently serves as defensive coordinator at Auburn University. Coaching career Assistant coaching career Roberts started his coaching career as the defensive coordinator at Houston High School in 1990. From Houston, Roberts served as head coach at Burroughs High School from 1994 to 1996 before taking his first college job at Greensboro in 1997. From Greensboro he served as defensive coordinator at both Tusculum (1998–2002) and Texas State (2003) before returning to the head coaching ranks at Mt. Whitney High School in 2004. The 2017 Sam Houston State Bearkats football team represented Sam Houston State University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Bearkats were led by fourth-year head coach K. C. Husky Stadium is a stadium on the campus of Houston Christian University in Houston, Texas. It is used for American football, and is the home field for the Houston Christian Huskies football team. The stadium is located near the corner of Beechnut and Fondren. Initial capacity is 5,000 with future construction phases to increase capacity. The stadium inaugural game held on September 6, 2014 was between the Houston Baptist Huskies and the McMurry War Hawks.
