2017 Selangor FA Season
The 2017 Selangor FA Season was Selangor FA's 12th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004. Selangor FA began the season on January 21, 2017. They will also compete in two domestic cups, the Malaysia FA Cup and Malaysia Cup. Season Overview Pre-season (Squad Build and First Transfers) Selangor started the summer in December when P. Maniam was officially announced as its new coach for one season. He appeared for his first press conference with the media on December 28. K. Gunalan, last year's interim coach, will again serve as assistant coach for this season. On December 28, 2016, P. Maniam added some new faces to the club's academy after losing several key players who moved to other teams. The players who were promoted to the first team were A. Namathevan, K. Selangor Football Club (Malay: ''Kelab Bola Sepak Selangor''), commonly referred to as Selangor F.C. is a Malaysian professional football club based in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor, that currently competes in the Malaysia Super League, the top tier of Malaysian football. The club is nicknamed the Red Giants. Officially founded in 1936 by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), the association built its football development as a result of a merger with the Selangor Association Football League (SAFL - established in 1905) and forming the professional football team known as Selangor FA. Abdul Halim bin Zainal (born 29 July 1988 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan) is a Malaysian footballer who plays for Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia Premier League. He is the younger brother of former Malaysia international player, Faizal Zainal and Khairil Zainal. Mohd Afiq Azmi
Muhammad Afiq bin Azmi (born 5 January 1989) is a Malaysian footballer who last plays as a forward for Penang in the Malaysia Premier League. He previously plays for KSK Tambun Tulang, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan. He also represented Perlis state in Sukma Games XV edition (year 2012) in Pahang. Club career Born in Kangar, Perlis, Afiq played two seasons for Kuala Lumpur and was the top scorer for his team. Mohamed Azmin bin Ali ( Jawi: محمد عزمين بن علي; born 25 August 1964) is a Malaysian politician who served as Senior Minister of the Economic Cluster and as Minister of International Trade and Industry from 2020 to 2022.
