2017 Selangor FA Season
The 2017 Selangor FA Season was Selangor FA's 12th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004. Selangor FA began the season on January 21, 2017. They will also compete in two domestic cups, the Malaysia FA Cup and Malaysia Cup. Season Overview Pre-season (Squad Build and First Transfers) Selangor started the summer in December when P. Maniam was officially announced as its new coach for one season. He appeared for his first press conference with the media on December 28. K. Gunalan, last year's interim coach, will again serve as assistant coach for this season. On December 28, 2016, P. Maniam added some new faces to the club's academy after losing several key players who moved to other teams. The players who were promoted to the first team were A. Namathevan, K. Selangor FA
Selangor Football Club (Malay: ''Kelab Bola Sepak Selangor''), commonly referred to as Selangor F.C. is a Malaysian professional football club based in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor, that currently competes in the Malaysia Super League, the top tier of Malaysian football. The club is nicknamed the Red Giants. Officially founded in 1936 by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), the association built its football development as a result of a merger with the Selangor Association Football League (SAFL - established in 1905) and forming the professional football team known as Selangor FA. On 2 October 2020, the club officially made its privatization under a new entity as Selangor Football Club after it was officially approved by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) on 29 September 2020. Abdul Halim Zainal
Abdul Halim bin Zainal (born 29 July 1988 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan) is a Malaysian footballer who plays for Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia Premier League. He is the younger brother of former Malaysia international player, Faizal Zainal and Khairil Zainal. He started to impress in 2010 season where he help Negeri Sembilan to reach Malaysian Cup final and win FA Cup. He also win the 2011 Malaysia Cup with Negeri Sembilan. Mohd Afiq Azmi
Muhammad Afiq bin Azmi (born 5 January 1989) is a Malaysian footballer who last plays as a forward for Penang in the Malaysia Premier League. He previously plays for KSK Tambun Tulang, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan. He also represented Perlis state in Sukma Games XV edition (year 2012) in Pahang. Club career Born in Kangar, Perlis, Afiq played two seasons for Kuala Lumpur and was the top scorer for his team. During his loan to Kelantan, he delivered outstanding performances in friendly matches before the 2012 Malaysia Cup campaign started. Dato' Seri Amirudin bin Shari ( ms, أمير الدين بن شاعري, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; born 8 February 1980) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 16th Menteri Besar of Selangor since June 2018, Member of Parliament (MP) for Gombak since November 2022 and Member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Tua since May 2018 and for Batu Caves from March 2008 to May 2018. Mohamed Azmin bin Ali ( Jawi: محمد عزمين بن علي; born 25 August 1964) is a Malaysian politician who served as Senior Minister of the Economic Cluster and as Minister of International Trade and Industry from 2020 to 2022. Muhammad Syahmi bin Safari (born 5 February 1998) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as a right back or right winger for Malaysia Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim and the Malaysia national team. Muhammad Faizzudin bin Mohd Abidin (born 26 May 1996) is a Malaysian footballer who plays as a winger. Club career Selangor Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Faizzudin began his professional footballing career with Selangor Under-17 in 2010.
