Professional Darts Corporation
The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC). Sports promoter Eddie Hearn is the PDC chairman. The PDC developed and holds several championship competitions, including the annual PDC World Darts Championship, the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, UK Open, Premier League, and Grand Slam. It also runs its own world rankings based on players' performances. History In the 1980s, professional darts in Britain lost much of its sponsorship television coverage. From 1989, the only televised event was the annual Embassy World Championship. Ricky Evans (darts Player)
Ricky Evans (born 29 July 1990) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career From 2007 to 2012 Evans attempted to qualify for each BDO World Championship but was unsuccessful. In 2011, Evans won a PDC Youth Tour event by beating David Coyne 4–1 in the final. He has played in the World Masters five times with his best finish coming in 2012 where he lost in the last 48 to James Wilson. In 2013, Evans played in the Qualifying School to earn a tour card for the Professional Darts Corporation events and succeeded on the first day. Less than two months later he reached the quarter-finals of a PDC Pro Tour event for the first time by beating Gary Anderson 6–5 in the last 16 of the second UK Open Qualifier, before he lost 6–3 to Peter Wright. Corey Cadby
Corey Patrick Cadby (born 18 March 1995) is an Australian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was the 2016 World Youth champion. Career A native of Tasmania, Cadby began competing in Darts Players Australia (DPA) events in 2016 after relocating to Melbourne. He won seven events during his debut season on the DPA Australian Grand Prix circuit, and finished first in the rankings, thus securing qualification for the 2017 PDC World Championship. In August 2016, Cadby lost 6–3 to 16-time world champion Phil Taylor in the first round of the Sydney Masters on his televised debut. He played Taylor again a week later in the first round of the Perth Masters, winning 6–2 with an average of 103.58. Cody Harris (darts Player)
Cody Harris (born 10 October 1985) is a former New Zealand darts player. Career Harris comes from a family of dartplayers. His father ran the ACDC Dart Club and Harris watched as a child his parents and other family members when they played. When Eric Bristow came to New Zealand for the WDF World Cup, Harris' father played against him and won. When Harris was around eight years old he for the first time threw a dart. When Harris was nine he won the A grade Championship for the Auckland Darts Association and he for the first time took part in the national championship when he was 13. Many national successes followed including the win in the 2015 Sydney Darts Masters Qualifier and the National Championship 2015. Internationally, his biggest success so far was the last 32 of the Winmau World Masters in 2015 where he lost to Scott Waites 3–0. Steve Duke (born 1954) is an American classical and jazz saxophonist noted for his performance of contemporary classical music, particularly computer music. Education and teaching career Steve Duke earned both B.M. and M.M. degrees in performance at the University of North Texas. There he studied saxophone performance with Jim Riggs and Dennis F. Diemond. He studied flute with Ralph Johnson and Clare Johnson, oboe with Charles Veazey, and clarinet with Lee Gibson. He studied jazz with Joe Henderson and Joe Daley. While at North Texas, he was awarded the Phi Kappa Lambda Outstanding Soloist Award, the highest award given for classical music performance. Johnny "John" Weber (born 29 November 1972) is a former professional Australian darts player. Career In 2011, Weber won his first title by claiming the Victorian Easter Open with a 7–2 victory over Jamie Browne in the final. In 2014 he began playing more in Australian Grand Prix Tour events, winning the Mittagong RSL Open 1, Southern Illawarra Open 1 and Warilla Bowls Club Open. Weber qualified for the Sydney Darts Masters and lost 6–1 to Stephen Bunting in the first round. He took the first five legs against Rob Szabo in the final of the Oceanic Masters and won 8–2. The title earned him a place in the first round of the 2015 World Championship, where he lost 3–1 against Terry Jenkins in the first round. William James O'Connor (born 15 July 1986 in Limerick) is an Irish professional darts player who competes in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career O'Connor first came to prominence in the 2010 UK Open when he defeated Stuart Monaghan in the First Round by 6 legs to 0. He then defeated Mark Frost and Peter Wright to reach the fourth round, where he played world number 3 James Wade on the main board and lost 9 legs to 3. He qualified for the 2010 World Grand Prix, where he lost to Barrie Bates in the first round by 2 sets to 0.
