2017 Moto3 Season
The 2017 FIM Moto3 World Championship was a part of the 69th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Brad Binder was the reigning series champion but did not defend his title as he joined the series' intermediate class, Moto2. The riders' championship title was won by Leopard Racing rider Joan Mir with 10 victories and 13 podiums finishes. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya () is a motorsport race track in Montmeló, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Mugello is a historic region and valley in northern Tuscany, in Italy, corresponding to the course of the River Sieve. Mugello Circuit () is a race track in Scarperia e San Piero, Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The circuit length is . It has 15 turns and a long straight. The circuit stadium stands have a capacity of 50,000. Grand Prix motorcycle racing host an annual event at the circuit (for MotoGP and smaller classes). In 2007 and 2008 the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters held an annual event. The track is owned by Scuderia Ferrari, which uses it for Formula One testing. Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto (formerly known as Circuit of Jerez and Circuito Permanente de Jerez), is a racing circuit located close to the city of Jerez de la Frontera, south of Seville and deep within the sherry-producing region in the south of Spain.
