2017 Montreal Alouettes Season
The 2017 Montreal Alouettes season was the 51st season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 63rd overall. The Alouettes finished the season in 4th place in the East Division with a disappointing 3–15 record. The 15 losses are a team record, breaking the previous record of 14 set during the 1986 season when the Alouettes went 4–14. And the 1982 season when they finished 2–14. The Alouettes failed to improve upon their 7–11 record from 2016 and were eliminated from the playoffs on October 9, 2017 after a loss to the Edmonton Eskimos, making this the third straight season that they missed the playoffs (it was the first time the team missed the playoffs for three straight years since their re-activation). Canadian Football League East Division
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks. Danny Maciocia
Danny Maciocia (born May 26, 1967) is the head coach and general manager of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was previously head coach of the Université de Montréal Carabins football team. He is also the former general manager and director of football operations of the Canadian Football League's Edmonton Eskimos and former offensive coordinator with the André-Grasset Phénix, a CEGEP team in Montreal. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. Fabion Foote (born April 10, 1994) is a professional Canadian football defensive lineman for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played U Sports football with the McMaster Marauders from 2013 to 2016. Professional career Montreal Alouettes Foote was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the second round, 12th overall, in the 2017 CFL Draft and signed with the club on May 17, 2017. Vernon Anthony Adams Jr. (born January 3, 1993) is an American professional Canadian football quarterback for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). 2017 CFL Draft
The 2017 CFL Draft took place on Sunday May 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM ET on TSN and RDS. 71 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian universities, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The draft was broadcast live on TSN for two hours and then subsequent coverage shifted to digital platforms on TSN.ca and TSN GO. He has worked for several National Football League organizations and was the general manager and vice-president of football operations for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2010 to 2013.
