2017 Molde FK Season
The 2017 season was Molde's tenth consecutive year in the top flight which from the beginning of this season is known as Eliteserien, and their 41st season in the top flight of Norwegian football. Along with the Eliteserien, the club also competed in the Norwegian Cup. Molde finished 2nd in Eliteserien and reached the semifinal in the Norwegian Cup where the team were defeated by Lillestrøm. Season events On 29 December 2016, Molde announced that Mark Dempsey had returned to the club as an Assistant Manager, working alongside Erling Moe, on a -year contract. After the season was finished, Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson was named Molde FK Player of the season by players, coaches and staff at the club. Molde Fotballklubb () is a professional football club based in Molde, Norway, that competes in Eliteserien, the top flight of Norwegian football. Founded on 19 June 1911, the club was originally known as International and changed its name to Molde in 1915. Molde are five-time league champions (2011, 2012, 2014, 2019 & 2022) and five-time Norwegian Cup winners (1994, 2005, 2013, 2014 and 2021), and have finished second in the league a further nine times. Molde is one of only two Norwegian clubs to have participated in the UEFA Champions League. The club's home matches are played at the 11,249-capacity Aker Stadion. Lunan Ruben Gabrielsen (born 10 March 1992) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Lillestrøm. Club career Early career He started his career in Kapp IF, always playing with the older teams. Toten came to collect him, and went from there to Gjøvik-Lyn. Tobias Svendsen
Tobias Hammer Svendsen (born 31 August 1999) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien club Lillestrøm. He is a younger brother of Sander Svendsen. Club career Svendsen made his league debut on 9 July 2016 in a match against Sogndal, which Molde lost 4–3. Svendsen was loaned out to Sandefjord on 16 January 2019 for the whole season. Eirik Hestad
Eirik Hestad (born 26 June 1995) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder who plays for Molde. Club career In 2012, he dominated for Molde 2 in the 2. divisjon, and made his first-team debut on 25 October 2012 in a Europa League group stage match against Steaua București. Sonni Ragnar Nattestad (born 5 August 1994) is a Faroese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for B36 and the Faroe Islands national team.
