2017 Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament
The 2017 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament will be held from May 24 through 27. All eight baseball-sponsoring schools in the conference will participate in the double-elimination tournament to be held at Missouri State's Hammons Field in Springfield, Missouri. The winner of the tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Seeding and format The league's eight teams will be seeded based on conference winning percentage. The teams will play a two bracket, double-elimination format tournament, with the winner of each bracket then playing a single elimination final. Dan Heefner
Dan Heefner is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball, Dallas Baptist since the start of the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2008 season. Under Heefner, the Patriots have reached ten NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, NCAA tournaments, including a Super Regional in 2011. An Olivet Nazarene University, Olivet Nazarene graduate, Heefner played two years of baseball for the Tigers after transferring from Northern Iowa Panthers baseball, Northern Iowa. Coaching career Northern Iowa Heefner began his coaching career at Northern Iowa Panthers baseball, Northern Iowa (UNI), where he worked under head coach Rick Heller from 2002 to 2003. Missouri State Bears Baseball
The Missouri State Bears baseball team represents Missouri State University, which is located in Springfield, Missouri. The Bears are an NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in the Missouri Valley Conference. They began competing in Division I in 1983 and joined the Missouri Valley Conference in 1991 after seven seasons with the Mid-Continent Conference. The Missouri State Bears play all home games on campus at John Q. Hammons Field. Hammons Field
Hammons Field is a minor league baseball stadium located in Springfield, Missouri, with a capacity of 7,986 plus approximately 2,500 general admission seating. The facility, funded entirely by local businessman, hotel mogul and benefactor John Q.
