2017 Korean Basketball League Draft
The 2017 Korean Basketball League rookie draft (Korean: 2017 KBL 국내신인선수 드래프트) was held on October 30, 2017, at the Jamsil Students' Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea. Out of the 44 participants, 27 players were drafted. In September 2017, the KBL announced its confirmed list of 44 participants for the upcoming draft. The order of selection was chosen through two lotteries and announced on October 23. Busan KT Sonicboom won the right to the first overall pick and also obtained the second pick via a player trade with Changwon LG Sakers. Jamsil Students' Gymnasium
Jamsil Students' Gymnasium () is an indoor sporting arena located in Seoul, South Korea. The capacity of the arena is 7,500 and was built from November 1972 to December 1976 to host Boxing events at the 1986 Asian Games and 2-years later the same sport on the 1988 Summer Olympics, and wheelchair basketball events at the 1988 Summer Paralympics. The arena's name is derived from the fact that it owned by the Korea University Sports Federation, and usually host university sports events, most notably the annual MBC Cup for college basketball teams. KBL Defensive Player Of The Year
The Korean Basketball League Defensive Player of the Year Award (Korean: 최우수수비상) is an annual Korean Basketball League (KBL) award given to the best defensive player during the regular season. The awardee is selected from players voted into the Defensive Best 5 (Korean: 수비 5걸) team. In addition to contributing to their team's overall defensive record, selected players must accumulate high averages in the following statistical categories: blocks, steals and defensive rebounds. The Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus is a professional basketball club in the Korean Basketball League. History Foundation and amateur era Before the professional Korean Basketball League was established in 1997, domestic basketball was an amateur sport and teams were sponsored by corporate companies or private universities. Kim Nak-hyeon (born March 12, 1995) is a South Korean professional basketball player. He plays for Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the Korean Basketball League and the South Korean national team. Early life A native of Yeosu, Kim started playing basketball in elementary school.
