The 2017 Korea Open (badminton), Korea Open Super Series was the seventh Super Series tournament of the 2017 BWF Super Series. The tournament took place at SK Handball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea from September 12 – 17, 2017 and had a total purse of $600,000. SK Handball Stadium
SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium () is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located at the Olympic Park, Seoul, Olympic Park in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The arena was built from September 1984 to April 1986. History It was known as the Olympic Fencing Gymnasium () or Olympic Gymnasium No. 2 prior to 2011. The arena hosted the Fencing at the 1988 Summer Olympics, fencing and fencing part of the Modern pentathlon at the 1988 Summer Olympics, modern pentathlon events at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Chou Tien-chen (Chinese: 周天成; born 8 January 1990) is a Taiwanese badminton player. He became the first local shuttler in 17 years to win the men's singles title of the Chinese Taipei Open in 2016 since Indonesian-born Fung Permadi won it in 1999. He won his first BWF Super Series title at the 2014 French Open, beating Wang Zhengming of China 10–21, 25–23, 21–19 in the finals. Kenta Nishimoto
is a Japanese badminton player. He won a silver medal in the men's singles at the 2017 Summer Universiade and a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. Sourabh Verma (born 30 December 1992) is an Indian badminton player. He is a three time men's singles title Champion at the Indian National Championships. Brice Leverdez (born 9 April 1986) is a French badminton player. He was a champion at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, won a silver medal at the 2015 European Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships. Sameer Verma (born 22 October 1994) is an Indian badminton player. He trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad. Sameer is the brother of Indian badminton player Sourabh Verma. Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is an Indian badminton player. A former World No.6, he trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2012. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so.
