The 2017 Karjala Tournament was played between 8–12 November 2017. The Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden and Russia. The new teams involved in the tournament were Canada and Switzerland. 2016 Karjala Tournament
The 2016 Karjala Tournament was played between 3–6 November 2016. The Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden and Russia played a round-robin for a total of three games per team and six games in total. Five of the matches were played in the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, and one match in the CEZ Arena in Plzeň, Czech Republic. The tournament was won by Russia. Anton Lander
Sven Anton Lander (born April 24, 1991) is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre for Timrå IK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Lander was drafted in the second round, 40th overall, at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. Playing career Lander broke into the Swedish Elitserien during the 2007–08 season as a centre for Timrå IK. He had also represented Timrå in the junior league between the 2006–07 and 2008–09 seasons. Lander was named one of the alternate captains for the team on 22 September 2009. Before leaving Sweden, Lander played for Timrå IK in the Elitserien, where his father, Anders "Ante" Karlsson was the head coach. Jakub Klepiš
Jakub Klepiš (born June 5, 1984) is a Czech professional ice hockey player currently playing for BK Mladá Boleslav of the Czech Extraliga (EHL). Playing career Klepiš was drafted in the first round, 16th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Before ever playing for Ottawa, Klepiš was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2003 in a deal that sent Vaclav Varada to the Senators. Tomáš Kundrátek (born December 26, 1989) is a Czech professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing with HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech Extraliga (ELH). He has previously played in the National Hockey League for the Washington Capitals. Michal Řepík (born 31 December 1988) is a Czech professional ice hockey left winger. He is currently under contract with HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Repik was selected by the Florida Panthers in the 2nd round (40th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Michal Birner (born 2 March 1986) is a Czech ice hockey forward who is currently playing for HC Bílí Tygři Liberec in the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Playing career Birner was drafted 116th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues. Lukáš Radil (born 5 August 1990) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward currently playing for Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Radil began playing as a youth within the Pardubice organization. Jakub Nakládal (born 30 December 1987) is a Czech former professional ice hockey defenseman who last played for HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Dick Axelsson (born 25 April 1987) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey winger. He last played for Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
