Valur Men's Football
The Valur men's football team, commonly known as Valur, is the men's football department of the Knattspyrnufélagið Valur multi-sport club. It is based in Reykjavík, Iceland, and currently plays in the Besta deild karla, the top-tier men's football league in Iceland. The team plays it home games at Hlíðarendi located in Reykjavík. The team's colors are red and white. Valur has spent most of it´s time in Icelandic top flight football, having only played 3 seasons in the clubs history outside the top tier. Valur is one of the most successful football clubs in Iceland with 23 Icelandic championships. Steven Lennon (born 20 January 1988) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a forward for Þróttur Reykjavík, on loan from Besta-deild karla side FH. He has previously played for Rangers, Partick Thistle, Lincoln City, Dundalk, Newport County, Fram Reykjavík and Sandnes Ulf. Career Rangers Lennon was born in Irvine, North Ayrshire. Þórarinn Ingi Valdimarsson ''(anglicized Thorarinn Ingi Valdimarsson)'' (born 23 April 1990) is an Icelandic footballer who plays for Stjarnan. Emil Pálsson (born 10 June 1993) is an Icelandic former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in his native Iceland from 2008 to 2017 and was named the Úrvalsdeild Player of the Year in 2015. He later played several seasons in Norway before severe heart problems ended his career prematurely in 2022. Gunnar Nielsen (born 7 October 1986) is a Faroese professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for Icelandic club FH.
