2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships – Mixed Relay
The Mixed relay race at the 2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships was held at the Kampala in Uganda, on March 26, 2017. It was the first time this event was held at the World Cross Country Championships. 13 teams took part in the inaugural race. A team made by Refugee Athletes were set to compete, but they were unable to travel on time. The exact length of the race was 7,858 m (2,023m first lap, two laps of 2,000 m and a final lap of 1,835m). Complete results for individuals. Sadik Mikhou (born 25 July 1990) is a Moroccan-born middle-distance runner who since 2015 runs internationally for Bahrain. He competed at the 2017 World Championships finishing sixth. Additionally, he won the gold at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games. He switched his allegiance from Morocco. On 8 August International Testing Agency confirmed that Alsadik Mikhou has been provisionally suspended for receiving a blood transfusion during the Tokyo Olympics. Paul Kipkemoi Chelimo (born October 27, 1990) is an Kenyan born American track and field athlete. He is the 2016 Olympic silver medalist and the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist in the 5000 meters. Career Born and brought up in Kenya Chelimo initially went to the US in 2010 to run for Shorter College where he won the 3000 meters and was part of their winning distance medley relay team as Shorter won the 2011 NAIA National Indoor Championship. Later that year, Shorter won the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship as Chelimo won the 5000 meters and 10000 meters at the championships.
