2017 Houston Dynamo Season
The 2017 Houston Dynamo season was the club's 12th season of existence since joining Major League Soccer for the 2006 season. The club's had misse the MLS Cup Playoffs for three consecutive seasons. It is the team's first year under the leadership of head coach Wilmer Cabrera and third season under general manager Matt Jordan. On the front office end, it is Gabriel Brener's second season as majority owner and Chris Canetti's seventh as the club president. Month by month review Preseason Five days after the end of the 2016 regular season, the Houston Dynamo appointed Wilmer Cabrera as the fourth head coach in club history. Cabrera was promoted from the club's lower league affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC Toros where served as the head coach for the 2015 USL season. Cabrera took over for interim head coach Wade Barrett – the only other reported candidate for the job – and a team that had missed the MLS Cup Playoffs for the third consecutive season. Houston Dynamo FC (formerly officially, but still commonly, called the Houston Dynamo) is an American professional soccer club based in Houston. The Dynamo compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. Established on December 15, 2005, the club was founded after their former owners relocated the San Jose Earthquakes' players and staff to Houston following the 2005 season. For their first six seasons in Houston, the Dynamo were based at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston. Seattle Sounders Football Club is an American professional men's soccer club based in Seattle. The Sounders compete as a member of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). The club was established on November 13, 2007, and began play in 2009 as an MLS expansion team. Joe Willis (soccer)
Joseph Willis (born August 10, 1988) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Nashville SC in Major League Soccer. Youth soccer Willis played high school soccer for Chaminade College Preparatory in St. Louis. Willis played soccer for University of Denver from 2006 to 2010, serving as the starter from 2008 to 2010. He was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2008, and was named All-MPSF from 2008 to 2010. While at Denver, he also played for the USL Premier Development League Real Colorado Foxes. Tyler Deric
John Tyler Deric (born August 30, 1988) is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros in the USL Championship. Youth and college soccer Deric was coached by Scot Dymond at Texans SC during his youth career. Deric spent his high school years at Klein High School in Spring, Texas. There, Deric lead the Bearkats to a UIL 5A state championship in 2005 and received the honor of being named to the All-Tournament team as a sophomore in high school. His successful 2005 season came with a call up to the Texas ODP team. Deric was named, along with 49 other players, as the top 50 players to watch in the graduating class of 2007 by Top Drawer Soccer. Dylan Remick
Dylan Remick (born May 19, 1991) is a retired American soccer player who played for Seattle Sounders FC and the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer. He graduated from Brown University in 2012 and was selected the following year by Seattle in the MLS SuperDraft. Career College and amateur Remick spent all four years of his college career at Brown University. While at Brown, he was a member of "Los Banditos". He majored in biology and pre-med studies while at Brown. Remick had played in high school as a centerback, was switched to a leftback in his freshman year at brown. In his freshman year, he made 17 appearances for the Bears and finished the year with two goals and an assist.
