2017 Harrisburg City Islanders Season
The 2017 season was the Harrisburg City Islanders's 14th season of competitive soccer - its first in the second division of American soccer, and its seventh season in United Soccer League. This was the club's final season under its original name, with the club renamed Penn FC (in full, Penn Football Club) shortly after the end of the season. Review For the 2017 season, the City Islanders played all their home matches at FNB Field rather than splitting time between Harrisburg and Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster. This decision was made to focus on marketing the team more intently in Harrisburg area. Penn FC (formerly the Harrisburg City Islanders) was an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 2003, the team most recently played in the USL Pro, the second tier of the United States soccer league system. In October 2018, the club formally announced it will not participate in the 2019 season and would have resume play in 2020 as a member of USL League One, a league in the third tier. On November 15, 2017 the team was rebranded as Penn FC. The rebrand served in conjunction with a partnership with Rush Soccer youth development program. Christopher Hill (born March 11, 1994) is an American soccer defender who last played for Penn FC in the USL. Hill grew up in Farmingdale, New Jersey and attended Howell High School. Career Youth and college Hill played soccer at Richmond University in 2012, where he recorded two goals and two assists as a freshman, starting in 16 of the team's 18 matches. After the men's soccer program had been cut by the school, Hill transferred to Villanova University in 2013, where he stayed for three years.
