2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix
The 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix was the 25th edition of the annual women's international volleyball tournament played by 32 teams between 7 July and 6 August. The Group 1 Final Round was held in Nanjing, China. Defending champions Brazil won their record twelfth title in the tournament after a 3–2 win over Italy. Serbia captured their third bronze medal in the competition by defeating China in a rematch of the previous year's Olympic final. Natália Pereira from Brazil was elected the MVP for the second straight year. In the Group 2 finals held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Poland defeated South Korea in straight sets. Moreover, Hungary finished atop of Group 3 at their first-ever World Grand Prix participation after a 3–0 win over the home team in the final match in Canberra, Australia. Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube is a women's volleyball team, based in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro (state), Brazil. Since the 2021-22 season the club plays under the name Sesc-RJ/Flamengo. History It was founded in 1997 as Paraná Vôlei Clube, playing in Curitiba, Paraná, and moved to Rio in 2003. They were previously known as Rexona-Ades, and since 2012 known as Unilever Vôlei, named after one of the sponsors. Unilever Vôlei won the silver medal at the 2013 Club World Championship after falling 3-0 to Vakıfbank Istanbul. In 2016, Sesc-RJ replaced Unilever's brand Ades as sponsor of the club changing its name to Rexona Sesc-RJ. Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club is a professional women's volleyball club based in Tianjin that plays in the Chinese Volleyball League. Founded in 1993, the team has become a symbolic image of Tianjin Sports and the most successful women’s volleyball team in China. Tianjin Bridgestone have achieved eleven titles in the Chinese Volleyball League, three titles at the National Games of China. Also, they have five champion titles in the AVC Club Championships. Bayi Nanchang Women's Volleyball Team, formerly Bayi Kemen Noodle Manufacturing named from 2001 to 2015 and Bayi Shenzhen from 2015 to 2018, was a professional women's volleyball club based in Nanchang, Jiangxi and competes in the Chinese Women's Volleyball Super League. They won the championship in 2001 and 2014. The team was based in Shenzhen, and later in Nanchang. Fan Linlin, Yang Junjing, Yuan Xinyue, and Liu Yanhan were national team players.
