2017 FIA European Rallycross Championship
The 2017 FIA European Rallycross Championship was the 42nd season of the FIA European Championships for Rallycross Drivers. The season consisted of nine rounds across three categories; Supercar, Super1600 and TouringCar. The season commencing on 1 April with the Spanish round at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and culminating on 1 October in Germany at the Estering. Swede Kevin Hansen was the defending Supercar champion, Hungarian Krisztián Szabó was defending Super1600 champion and Norwegian Ben-Philip Gundersen was defending TouringCar champion. 2017 champions were Anton Marklund (Supercar), Krisztián Szabó (Super1600) and Lars Øivind Enerberg (TouringCar). 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship
The 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the fourth season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consists of twelve rounds, started on 1 April with the Spanish round at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and concluded on 12 November at the Killarney Motor Racing Complex in Cape Town, South Africa. Johan Kristoffersson was the season's Driver's Champion, claiming it at the Neste World RX of Latvia. The Teams' Championship was won by PSRX Volkswagen Sweden. Calendar On 17 October 2016 the provisional 2017 calendar was released. It once again contained twelve rounds; however the Argentine event was discontinued in favour of a new event in South Africa. Circuit De Lohéac
The Circuit de Lohéac is a racing circuit in Lohéac, Ille-et-Vilaine. The circuit is the oldest Rallycross circuit in France. Since 1976, it has a round of the French Rallycross Championship annually. The circuit also hosts the French round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship since the inauguration of the championship in 2014. History This circuit was created by Michel Hommell, leader and founder of the Michel Hommell Group specializing in automotive magazines and between 1990 and 2003, would act as a car manufacturer. It is on this circuit that the inaugural French Rallycross Championship was raced, with the race taking place on September 5, 1976. With over 80,000 spectators attending the 2018 edition, the French round of World Rallycross became the third most viewed auto racing event in France, after 24 Hours of Le Mans and French Grand Prix. The Volkswagen Polo Mk5 is the fifth generation of the Polo, a supermini-class car manufactured by Volkswagen since 2009. Höljesbanan, also known as Höljes Motorstadion, is a rallycross circuit situated in the village of Höljes, in the Finnskogen ('Finnwoods') of the Swedish county Värmland, beside the river Klarälven and close to the Norwegian border. The circuit opened in February 1976 and is one of the most famous rallycross circuits in the world. Traditionally held over the first weekend of July the venue plays host to the so-called 'Magic Weekend' of rallycross when it runs the Swedish round of the European and World Rallycross championships. Lånkebanen
Lånkebanen is a road racing circuit situated near Hell in Lånke, Stjørdal, Norway. The venue opened in 1987 as the first asphalt track in the country. It is used for a variety of motorsports, including rallycross, go-kart and motorcycle racing. The venue also features a designated hillclimbing and a motocross track on the slopes below, and a harness racing oval. Lånkebanen is owned by the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF). The venue also serves the National Driving Teacher School and is used for testing by SINTEF and Q-Free. At an international level the venue is used for rallycross races.
