2017 FC Edmonton Season
The 2017 FC Edmonton season was the club's seventh season of existence. The club would play in North American Soccer League, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. It would also be the clubs last in the NASL before taking an 8-month hiatus before joining the CPL ahead of its inaugural season in 2019. FC Edmonton
FC Edmonton was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club was founded in 2010 and competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 2011 to 2017. The club went on hiatus when NASL ceased competitive operations before the cancelled 2018 season. FC Edmonton competed in the Canadian Premier League from the league's inaugural season in 2019 until 2022. From 2012 onward, FC Edmonton's home field had been Clarke Stadium. Tyson Farago
Tyson James Farago (born May 1, 1991) is a Canadian former professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. Starting his senior career at the club while at university, he joined FC Edmonton a year later and spent four seasons with the Alberta club. He signed for Irish club St Patrick's Athletic in March 2018, and returned to WSA Winnipeg after four months overseas. He then had two stints in the new Canadian Premier League, first with Valour FC of Winnipeg, then with Cavalry FC of Calgary. Club career Early career Farago represented the Manitoba provincial team between 2004 and 2010, and won a gold medal at the 2007 Western Canada Summer Games. Nikolas William "Nik" Ledgerwood (born 16 January 1985) is a Canadian soccer coach and former player who serves as an assistant coach with Cavalry FC. Club career Early career Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Ledgerwood played for Calgary Storm in 2002, before signing with 1860 Munich in 2003. He signed a two-year (plus two-year club option) contract with 1860 Munich of the German Second Bundesliga in July 2003. He had a few seasons with them in their 'B' team, who played in Germany's third level. Albert Watson (born 8 September 1985) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer. Club career Early career Born in Belfast, Watson made his senior-club debut for Ballymena United on 4 December 2001 in a 1–1 draw against Institute, at 16 years of age. He attracted interest from Linfield in February 2008, although any interest concluded when Watson signed a new contract with Ballymena a few days later. Allan Hugues Zebie (born May 29, 1993) is a soccer coach and former player. Born in France, Zebie was called up to Canadian youth teams as a player. Early life Zebie was born in Paris, France to parents of Ivorian descent and moved to Lachine, Quebec at age nine, later moving to Brossard, Quebec. Shawn Nicklaw (born April 15, 1989) is a Guamanian retired professional footballer who is currently an assistant coach for the Saint Mary's Gaels men's soccer team. Nicklaw played as an offensively oriented right-back. Career Amateur Nicklaw played with the Nomads Soccer Club, earning the 2007 Red Bull National League Championship.
