2017 European Shooting Championships
The 2017 European Shooting Championships was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 21 July – 4 August 2017. 932 athletes from 43 countries contested 79 sets of medals in 25m, 50m, 300m, rifle and pistol, Shotgun and RT events. Qualification for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games also took place and included 10m events. The Championship was organised by the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation and the Youth and Sports Ministry. Baku

Vladimir Aleksandrovich Goncharov (also ''Vladimir Gontcharov'', russian: Владимир Александрович Гончаров; born 21 May 1977) is a Russian sport shooter. He collected a total of three bronze medals in pistol shooting at the ISSF World Shooting Championships (2002, 2006, and 2014), and was also selected to represent Russia at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, finishing ninth in the air pistol and fourth in the free pistol. Gontcharov is also a member of the shooting team for Dynamo St. Petersburg, under head coach Anatoliy Suslov. Gontcharov qualified for the Russian squad in pistol shooting at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney after shooting a mandatory minimum score of 590 in air pistol at the 1999 ISSF World Cup meet in the same Olympic venue. Viktor Bankin ( uk, Віктор Вікторович Банькін; born 24 August 1990 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian sport shooter, Master of Sports of Ukraine, World Class. Career He started shooting at the age of 10, and from the age of 12 he began to participate in competitions. Studied at the Kyiv City School of Higher Sports Mastery. Since 2009, he has been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an athlete-instructor of the Central Sports Club of the AFU, a member of the Ukrainian army shooting team. Oleh Petrovych Omelchuk ( uk, Олег Петрович Омельчук; born 7 June 1983) is a Ukrainian sport shooter who competes in the men's 10 metre air pistol and the men's 50 metre pistol. He is the 2014 European 10 m pistol champion. Career Omelchuk has represented Ukraine at three Olympics. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, he finished in 16th place in the men's 10 m air pistol, and in 4th place in the 50 m pistol, losing out on the bronze medal to Russia's Vladimir Isakov in a shoot-off. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Omelchuk finished 5th in the final round of the men's 10 m air pistol and in 29th place in the men's 50 m pistol.
