2017 Dunlop Super2 Series
The 2017 Super2 Series (known for commercial reasons as the 2017 Dunlop Super2 Series) was an Australian motor racing competition for Supercars, staged as a support series to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. It was the eighteenth annual Supercars Development Series. The series was won by Todd Hazelwood, driving a Holden VF Commodore for Matt Stone Racing. A few substantial changes were seen for the 2017 season including the new rules of the Super2 program. This saw the opportunity for Dunlop Series teams to field a Wildcard entry in up to two of the four Virgin Australia Supercars Championship events at Winton, Barbagallo Raceway, Hidden Valley and Queensland Raceway. Super2 Series
The Dunlop Super2 Series (formerly known as Dunlop Series, Fujitsu V8 Supercars Series, HPDC V8 Supercars Series, Konica Minolta V8 Supercars Series and Konica V8 Supercars/Lites Series) is an Australian touring car racing competition, specifically the second tier series for Supercars competitors. Competing vehicles are older than those utilised in the Supercars Championship series and are usually run by smaller teams with lower budgets. The series is a critical stepping stone in driver development, the pathway to the Repco Supercars Championship and a place where young drivers can hone their skills and showcase their talent in front of the championship teams. The Ford Falcon (FG X) is a full-size car that was produced by Ford Australia. Introduced in 2014, it is a restyled second and final iteration of the seventh generation Falcon FG. Andrew Jones (born 24 June 1980) is an Australian racing driver who previously competed in the Supercars Championship and Dunlop Super2 Series, driving with family-owned team Brad Jones Racing for majority of his career. Jones has had success in a number of forms of motorsport in Australia. In 2004 he won the Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series, the second tier series, and went on to secure a drive with Garry Rogers Motorsport in the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship Series. Jack 'Perko' Perkins (born 22 August 1986) is an Australian motor racing driver who competes in the Pirtek Enduro Cup. He currently co-drives with Will Brown in the No. 9 Holden ZB Commodore for Erebus Motorsport.
