The 2017 Canberra Raiders season was the 36th in the club's history. Coached by Ricky Stuart and captained by Jarrod Croker, the Raiders competed in the NRL's 2017 Telstra Premiership. They also competed in the 2017 NRL Auckland Nines pre-season tournament. Canberra Raiders
The Canberra Raiders are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the national capital city of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. They have competed in Australasia's elite rugby league competition, the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership since 1982. Over this period the club has won 3 premierships, (out of 6 Grand Finals played). They have not won a grand final since 1994 and last played in a grand final in 2019. They have received 1 wooden spoon and had a total of 15 of its players (9 New South Wales rugby league team, New South Wales Blues and 6 Queensland rugby league team, Queensland Maroons) selected to play for the Australia national rugby league team. Benkato "Kato" Ottio (20 March 1994 – 9 January 2018) was a Papua New Guinean rugby league footballer. Primarily playing as a , Ottio represented Papua New Guinea, most notably at the 2017 World Cup. Joshua Hodgson (born 31 October 1989) is an English rugby league footballer who plays as a hooker for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL.
