The 2017 Campeonato Goiano (officially the Campeonato Goiano de Profissionais da 1ª Divisão – Edição 2017) is the 74th edition of Goiás's top professional football league. The Campeonato Goiano is the football league of the state of Goiás, Brazil. Format First Division First stage *Teams are divided in two groups of six teams. *Double round-robin, in which all teams home-and-away games against the team from other group. *Standard round-robin, in which all teams play each other once within the group. Itumbiara Esporte Clube, usually known simply as Itumbiara, is a Brazilian football club from Itumbiara, Goiás state. The club competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1979 and won the state championship in 2008. History On March 9, 1970, Itumbiara Esporte Clube was founded, as a result of the merger of local teams ''Goiás'' (founded in 1964) and ''Nacional'' (founded in 1952). In 1979, Itumbiara competed in the top level of the Brazilian Championship, finishing in the 64th position. In 2008, Itumbiara won the state championship for the first time, after beating Goiás 1–0 and 3–0 in the final. In 2010, Itumbiara finished state championship on 9th and penultimate place and were relegated to second level. Iporá
Iporá is a municipality in west-central Goiás state, Brazil. The population is around 31,499 (2020) in a total area of 1,026.4 km² (10/10/2002). History Founded on 1 January 2000, Iporá immediately joined Campeonato Goiano's second tier and ceased activity after suffering relegation in the following year. Estádio Hailé Pinheiro, better known as Estádio da Serrinha, is a multi-use stadium located in Goiânia, Brazil. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Goiás Esporte Clube. The stadium has currently a maximum capacity of 14,450 people.
