2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup Qualification (CFU–UNCAF Play-off)
The 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification (CFU–UNCAF play-off) was a home-and-away two-legged qualification play-off that took place in March 2017 to determine the final team that would participate in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. It was the second edition of the competition. The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) representative, Haiti, met the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) representative, Nicaragua, in the play-off. The matches took place on 24 and 28 March 2017, as it was the only international window on the FIFA International Match Calendar that occurred after the 2017 Copa Centroamericana and 2016 Caribbean Cup fifth place playoff had finished but before the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup was scheduled to begin. 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup
The 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the 14th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the biennial international men's soccer championship of the North, Central American and Caribbean region organized by CONCACAF, and 24th CONCACAF regional championship overall. The tournament was played between July 7–26, 2017 in the United States. The United States won their sixth title with their 2–1 victory over Jamaica in the final. Qualified teams A total of twelve teams qualified for the tournament. Juan Ramón Barrera Pérez (born 2 May 1989) is a Nicaraguan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga Primera club Real Estelí and captains the Nicaragua national team. Carlos Alberto Chavarría Rodriguez (born 2 May 1994) is a Nicaraguan footballer who currently plays for Real Estelí. Chavarría has also represented Nicaragua internationally, both at U-20s, and senior level. Career Chavarría was promoted into the senior team of Real Estelí in 2013. Jeff Louis (born 8 August 1992) is a Haitian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Between 2011 and 2018 he represented the Haiti national team internationally, making 29 FIFA-official appearances and scoring 3 goals. 2017 Caribbean Cup Qualification
The 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification began in March 2016. The qualification competition determined which Caribbean national teams would play in the 2017 Caribbean Cup and the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Participants 25 teams from the 31 CFU members entered the qualification tournament. Sint Maarten participated for the first time since 1997. Draw Twenty five nations were involved in the draw, which took place on 16 January 2016, 21:00 AST ( UTC−4), at the Jolly Beach Resort & Spa resort in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda.
