2017 British Rowing Junior Championships
The 2017 British Rowing Junior Championships were the 46th edition of the National Junior Championships, held from 14–16 July 2017 at the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham. They were organised and sanctioned by British Rowing, and are open to British junior rowers. Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre
Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of The National Water Sports Centre is located in the hamlet of Holme Pierrepont near Nottingham, England and on the River Trent. It is used for many different types of sports and has recently received significant investment which has enabled a major refurbishment of existing facilities as well as introduction of new facilities. Run by Serco on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, it was previously one of five National Sports Centres, and is a unique sporting venue set in the centre of the country. History The centre was constructed during 1970 and 1971 on a former gravel works and required the excavation of one and a half million Cubic yard, cubic yards of material. Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association
Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association (ASRA) was founded in 1960 by Robert Newton and Bryan Steel. It thrives today on the banks of the River Dee, Aberdeen, in Scotland. The club is affiliated to Scottish Rowing. History ASRA has been very successful in National competitions since 1960 and has won medals at 3 major competitions in Britain. In 2007 ASRA was awarded a grant from the Big Lottery Fund which allowed ASRA to employ their first paid coach, purchase boats for beginners, ergometers for schools and a minibus and towing vehicle. ASRA is expanding and hoping to build an extension to the current boathouse which was constructed in 2001. Reading Rowing Club
Reading Rowing Club is a rowing club, on the River Thames in England, on the Berkshire bank at Reading close to the town centre just above Caversham Bridge, the westerly bridge in the town on the reach above Caversham Lock. The club was founded in 1867 at Reading where there had been an interest in rowing for several years. After its foundation the club revived the Reading Amateur Regatta and has been the driving force behind it ever since. The club was particularly successful at Henley Royal Regatta in the 1930s. Membership and activities The only non-academic rowing club in Reading, Goring Gap Rowing Club is the nearest such club and is a semi-rival, in the west of Mapledurham, as that club take part in events for the non-racing, recreational side of the sport. Twickenham Rowing Club was founded on 26 July 1860 so is jointly with Thames Rowing Club the third oldest rowing club on the Thames. The club is on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, south-west London. Its boat code is TWK. Walton Rowing Club is an amateur rowing club, on the River Thames in England. Its large, modern, combined club and boat house is on the Surrey bank of the Thames, facing the Walton Mile straight, at Walton-on-Thames about 400 metres above Sunbury Lock cut.
