2017 Brisbane Global Rugby Tens
The 2017 Brisbane Global Tens was the inaugural Brisbane Global Tens rugby union tournament, with all five of New Zealand's Super Rugby teams, all four of Australia's Super Rugby teams contesting for the title as the core sides, while the Blue Bulls of South Africa, the Panasonic Wild Knights of Japan, Toulon of France, and Manu Samoa competed as invitational sides. It was held at Suncorp Stadium. The draw was released on 16 November 2016. The prize money was AU$1.6 million. The tournament was won by the Chiefs who defeated the Crusaders in the final 12-7. Squads There were expected to be up to 500 players named across the 14 squads of the teams competing in the 2017 Brisbane Global Tens. Each team was also allocated a "Legend Wildcard", allowing each team to select a former player of high stature, significance and/or legacy to their former club to join the additional match day squad. Sam Nock
Sam J. Nock (born 18 June 1996) is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a Scrum-half (rugby union), halfback for in the Bunnings NPC and the in the Super Rugby competition. Early career Attending Saint Kentigern College in Auckland, Nock's talent was clear from an early age as he played for their top side for 3 years and captained them to national and world schools championship titles in his senior year. Senior career In his first year out of school, Nock returned home to play for the Northland Taniwha. He played all 10 games for them during what proved to be a torrid 2015 ITM Cup, 2015 campaign which saw them finish bottom of the Championship standings with no wins to show for their efforts. Billy Guyton
Bill Guyton (born 17 March 1990) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He played at halfback for provincial side Tasman. Guyton spent the previous three years playing for North Otago in the Heartland championship, making 29 appearances for the province. He then moved north to sign with the Tasman Mako ahead of 2013 season's ITM Cup. Tasman 2013 saw Guyton establish himself as the starting halfback for Tasman as they went on to have a successful season and win the champion division in the ITM Cup, with a 1-point win over Hawke's Bay 26–25. Murphy Taramai
Murphy Vaiaoga Utuariki Taramai (born 17 August 1992) is a New Zealand rugby union player, of Cook Islands and Samoan heritage, who currently plays as a loose forward for in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup and for the in the international Super Rugby competition. He previously represented the All Blacks Sevens team during the 2014–15 Sevens World Series. Youth career Taramai was initially a professional rugby league footballer of some pedigree during his days attending Upper Hutt College just outside of Wellington. Kara A. Pryor (born 2 April 1991) is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a loose forward for Rugby United New York (RUNY) of Major League Rugby (MLR). Senior career Pryor started out his National Provincial Championship career with and played 5 times for them before heading north to play alongside older brother Dan with the Northland Taniwha.
