This article details the Bradford Bulls rugby league football club's 2017 season. This is the Bulls 3rd season in the Championship. They come into this season as Championship Shield winners after defeating the Sheffield Eagles 27-16 in the Championship Shield Final. Season review August 2016 It was announced that French international Jean-Philippe Baile left the Bulls by mutual consent after playing just one game in the 2016 season.During the same week, newly formed League 1 side Toronto Wolfpack signed Bulls Dan Fleming on a one-year contract. Tongan winger Etu Uaisele also left Bradford after being sent on loan to Dewsbury Rams, he returned home to Australia following his release. Fullback Richie Mathers announced his retirement shortly after the defeat by Dewsbury Rams. The Championship, known as the Betfred Championship for sponsorship reasons, is a professional rugby league competition. It is the second-tier competition organised by the Rugby Football League, the governing body for the sport in England, and consists of 14 teams, with promotion to the Super League and relegation to the third-tier competition, League One. The league announced a two-year sponsorship deal with the bookmaking company Betfred ahead of the 2018 season. Daniel Fleming (born 8 July 1992) is a Wales international rugby league footballer who plays as a for Featherstone Rovers in the Betfred Championship. He previously played for the Castleford Tigers ( Heritage № 938) in the Super League, the Bradford Bulls in the Championship and the Toronto Wolfpack in League 1. Background Fleming was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. He went to Sowerby Bridge High School and he now owns his own business, G's Cakes. He has 2 sons George and Henry. Alex Foster (born 25 September 1993) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a or for the Castleford Tigers in the Super League, on a season-long loan from Newcastle Thunder in the RFL Championship. He has previously played for the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League, and on loan from Leeds at the Hunslet Hawks, London Broncos and Featherstone Rovers.
