2017 Big 12 Conference Softball Tournament
The 2017 Big 12 Conference softball tournament was held at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, OK from May 12 through May 13, 2017. It was the first Big 12 softball tournament since 2010. Oklahoma won their fifth conference tournament and earned the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division I softball tournament. Oklahoma, , and received bids to the NCAA tournament. OGE Energy Field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium is a softball-specific ballpark located inside the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. It seats 13,000 and is the site of the annual Women's College World Series. Patricia Marie Gasso ( née Froehlich; born May 27, 1962) is an American softball coach for the Oklahoma Sooners. She has been the head softball coach at the University of Oklahoma since 1995. She has led the Sooners team to seven national championships (2000, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, and 2023) and has compiled a career record of 1,456–345–2 and a winning percentage of . Paige Nicole Parker (born January 24, 1996) is an American, former collegiate four-time All-American, professional softball pitcher and current assistant head coach at Utah. She played college softball at Oklahoma, and won back-to-back National Championships with the Sooners in 2016 and 2017. Parker is a career record holder for perfect games (4) for the school and also ranks top-10 in the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA Division I for the same category. The Oklahoma Sooners softball team represents the University of Oklahoma in NCAA Division I College softball. Sydney Joy Romero (born March 8, 1997) is a Mexican American professional softball player and current assistant coach for Oregon. She previously played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners, where she set numerous program records and led the Sooners to four consecutive Women's College World Series appearances from 2016 to 2019, and won the national championship as a Freshman in 2016 and Sophomore in 2017.
