2017 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The 2017 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA's premier inter-county gaelic football competition for under 18's. 31 county teams from Ireland competed (Kilkenny did not participate). 2017 was the final year of this competition with an under 18 age limit; an under 17 championship with a new format replaced it after a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016. The winners received the Tom Markham Cup. Kerry GAA, Kerry won their fourth minor title in a row, defeating Derry GAA, Derry in the final on 17 September 2017 by 6-17 to 1-08. This was the first time that any county had won four minor titles in a row. Teams Thirty one teams contested the championship as Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny withdrew after competing in 2016. The winners receive the Tom Markham Cup. The 2015 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, defending champions were Kerry GAA, Kerry who defeated Tipperary GAA, Tipperary in the 2015 final. Kerry beat Galway 3-07 to 0-09 in the final on 18 September 2016 for their third consecutive championship. Teams Thirty two teams contest the championship. The Mayo County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Maigh Eo) or Mayo GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Mayo and the Mayo county teams. Leinster Minor Football Championship
The Leinster Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in gaelic football played in the province of Leinster. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016. Markievicz Park ( ga, Páirc Marcievicz) is the principal GAA stadium in County Sligo, Ireland, home to the Sligo Gaelic football and hurling teams. Built in 1955 in Sligo town (due mostly to Seán Forde who single-handedly gathered the funds necessary to build the stadium), it is named after Constance Markievicz, one of the participants of the 1916 Easter Rising, the first woman elected to Dáil Éireann and the first female elected to the British parliament, although she refused to take up her seat there. Salthill
Salthill () is a seaside area in the City of Galway in the west of Ireland. Lying within the townland of Lenaboy (''an Léana Buí''), it attracts many tourists all year round.
