2017 AFL Draft
The 2017 AFL draft consisted of the various periods where the 18 clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL) traded and recruited players following the completion of the 2017 AFL season. Additions to each club's playing list are not allowed at any other time during the year. The key dates for the trading and drafting periods: *The free agency offer period, held between 6 October and 18 October. Three further free agency periods were held for delisted players, between 1 November and 8 November, 10 November to 17 November, and 25 November to 26 November, *The trade period, held between 9 October and 19 October, *The 2017 national draft, held on 24 November, at the Sydney Showground Exhibition Centre, and included live bidding for academy and father-son selections. *The 2018 pre-season draft, held on 27 November, and *The 2018 rookie draft, also held on 27 November. Time In Australia
Australia uses three main time zones: Australian Western Standard Time (AWST; UTC+08:00), Australian Central Standard Time (ACST; UTC+09:30), and Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST; UTC+10:00). Zach Tuohy
Zach Tuohy (born 10 December 1989) is an Irish professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Tuohy grew up in Portlaoise, County Laois, Ireland, and played Gaelic football before making a code switch to Australian rules football. He is regarded as one of the greatest Irish players in the history of the AFL with the second highest number of games played, the most of any current non-Australian born player and fifth most in history. In 2022, he and Mark O'Connor (from Kerry) became the second and third Irish players in AFL history to win a premiership by winning the 2022 AFL Grand Final with the Geelong Cats. Koby Stevens (born 18 June 1991) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast, Western Bulldogs, and St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was selected as a second round pick (number 22 overall) in the 2009 AFL draft. Biography Stevens played for Gippsland Power in the TAC Cup. In 2008 he represented Vic Country at the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships, was named in the TAC Cup team of the year on the wing and also selected in the AIS/AFL Academy. In 2009, he captained the AIS/AFL Academy squad in their annual tour and was in the leadership group for Vic Country at the 2009 AFL Under 18 Championships. Nathan Hrovat
Nathan Hrovat (born 7 June 1994) is a former Australian rules footballer who most recently played in the Australian Football League (AFL) for the North Melbourne Football Club. He previously played for the Western Bulldogs from 2013 to 2016. He was recruited by the Western Bulldogs in the 2012 National Draft, with pick #21. Jack Frost (born 25 February 1992) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jack Steele (born 13 December 1995) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants from 2015 to 2016. Steele has won two Trevor Barker Awards and is a dual All-Australian. Dion Prestia (born 12 October 1992) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jaeger O'Meara (born 23 February 1994) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). William "Will" Hoskin-Elliott (born 2 September 1993) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for Greater Western Sydney from 2012 to 2016. State football Hoskin-Elliott played junior football for North Sunshine in the Western Region Football League (WRFL). Pearce Hanley (born 1988 in England) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played with the Brisbane Lions from 2008 to 2016. A former Gaelic footballer, he played for the Mayo county team and is from Ballaghaderreen, where he played his club football. Brett Edward Deledio (born 18 April 1987) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played 243 games over 12 seasons with the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), and a further 32 matches over three seasons with the Greater Western Sydney Giants.
