2017 A-League Grand Final
The 2017 A-League Grand Final was the twelfth A-League Grand Final, and was played on 7 May 2017, at Sydney Football Stadium, Allianz Stadium in Sydney. The match was contested between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory FC, Melbourne Victory who finished the 2016–17 season first and second respectively. This was the third time the teams met in a final, previously playing each other in 2010 A-League Grand Final, 2010 and 2015 A-League Grand Final, 2015. Both clubs qualified for the 2018 AFC Champions League due to their league position and participation in the Grand Final. Sydney FC won the match, defeating Melbourne Victory 4–2 on Penalty shoot-out (association football), penalties after the match finished 1–1 after extra time. 2016–17 A-League
The 2016–17 A-League was the 40th season of top-flight association football, soccer in Australia, and the 12th since the establishment of the A-League in 2004. The season began on 7 October 2016. Adelaide United FC, Adelaide United were both the defending A-League Premiers and Champions. 2007 A-League Grand Final
The 2007 A-League Grand Final took place at Telstra Dome in Melbourne, Australia, on 18 February 2007. The match was contested by premiers Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United, who had to play over half the game with ten men after their captain Ross Aloisi was sent off after 34 minutes. After the game, Adelaide coach John Kosmina heavily criticized the refereeing of the match and this, coupled with other issues, saw him forced to resign by the Adelaide board. Melbourne prevailed 6–0 in the joint largest win in A-League history, and the greatest ever deficit in any Australian soccer Grand Final, including the old NSL. The match also set the largest sporting attendance at Docklands Stadium of 55,436 people. James Troisi
James Troisi ( ; born 3 July 1988) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Western United. Miloš Ninković ( sr-Cyrl, Милош Нинковић; born 25 December 1984) is a Serbian footballer who currently plays for A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers. Brandon O'Neill (born 12 April 1994) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Newcastle Jets in the A-League. David Carney
David Raymond Carney (born 30 November 1983) is an Australian former association football midfielder and who is incoming coach for 2023 season NPL NSW side Wollongong Wolves FC. Born in Sydney, he began his playing career with the New South Wales Institute of Sport before moving to England to join Everton. Alexander William Wilkinson (born 13 August 1984) is an Australian international football (soccer) player who plays as a central defender and is the captain for Sydney FC in the A-League. Alex Jason Brosque (; born 12 October 1983) is an Australian former professional footballer who was the captain of A-League club Sydney FC. He played primarily as a striker but played predominantly as a midfielder in central midfield during his time in Japan. Besart Berisha (born 29 July 1985) is a Kosovan retired professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Youth and Hamburger SV Berisha began his youth career at German side Berliner VB 49 academies at age of 9.
