The 2016–17 in English football, 2016–17 season was the 14th season in English Football League, the Football League and the second consecutive season at the fourth tier of English football played by Yeovil Town F.C., Yeovil Town Football Club, an English football club based in Yeovil, Somerset. It was Manager (association football), manager Darren Way's first full season in charge, and he signed fourteen players on permanent and loan contracts before the close of the summer transfer window. After winning their opening game, Yeovil lost six of their next seven matches leaving them in the relegation zone in September before an improved run of form, including eight matches unbeaten saw the club rise into the play-offs after a 5–0 victory against Crawley Town F.C., Crawley Town in December. Yeovil Town F
Yeovil ( ) is a town and civil parish in the district of South Somerset, England. The population of Yeovil at the last census (2011) was 45,784. More recent estimates show a population of 48,564. It is close to Somerset's southern border with Dorset, from London, south of Bristol, from Sherborne and from Taunton. The aircraft and defence industries which developed in the 20th century made it a target for bombing in the Second World War; they are still major employers. Yeovil Country Park, which includes Ninesprings, is one of several open spaces with educational, cultural and sporting facilities. Religious sites include the 14th-century Church of St John the Baptist. The town is on the A30 and A37 roads and has two railway stations.
