The 2016–17 West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team represented West Virginia University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Bob Huggins
Robert Edward Huggins (born September 21, 1953), nicknamed "Huggy Bear", is an American college basketball coach. He was the head coach at Walsh, Akron, Cincinnati, Kansas State, and West Virginia. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022. Huggins is the sixth men's college basketball coach with 900 or more career victories. He has been to 24 total NCAA tournaments, including 23 in the last 26 seasons. He has led his teams to nine Sweet Sixteen appearances, four Elite Eight appearances (3 at Cincinnati and 1 at West Virginia University), and two Final Four appearances (1992 with Cincinnati and 2010 with West Virginia). The 2016–17 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Gonzaga University in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Mark Few, who was in his 18th season as head coach. The team played its home games at McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, Washington. Jaysean Paige (born July 30, 1994) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for the Mets de Guaynabo of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He played college basketball for the West Virginia Mountaineers and previously played for the College of Southern Idaho and Moberly Area Community College. The 2016 Phillips 66 Big 12 men's basketball tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference. 2015–16 TCU Horned Frogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 TCU Horned Frogs men's basketball team represented Texas Christian University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, led by head coach Trent Johnson in his fourth and final season at TCU. The Horned Frogs were members of the Big 12 Conference and played their home games at Schollmaier Arena, which reopened in December after a $72 million upgrade.
