2017–18 SVB Cup
The 2017–18 SVB Cup was the 27th season of the Surinamese Cup. The competition began on 6 January and ended on 30 June 2018. Robinhood beat West United in the final, 7–1, earning themselves their seventh SVB Cup, and their first since 2016. The SVB Cup (Dutch: Beker van Suriname) is a competition organized by the Surinamese Football Association (Dutch: ''Surinaamse Voetbal Bond (SVB)'') since 1992. It was based on the size of the KNVB Cup. The tournament consists of all teams from the top two layers of the Surinamese Football League Eerste Divisie and District Divisions. SV Voorwaarts, Suriname
Sport Vereniging Voorwaarts is an association football club from Paramaribo, Suriname, which currently play in the Surinamese Topklasse. History Foundation Founded on August 1, 1919 by a group of school kids, primarily from the Hendrikschool, who had decided that they wanted to continue to play organized football in the club associations, following the completion of their studies. The club was founded at the parents' house of 13 year old club member Bob Verhoeven in Fort Zeelandia. Other members who were present at the club's foundation were former players Max Enuma, William Read, Daisy A. Samson, George Meyer, Henny van Eyck, A. Eddie Zaal and Eddy van Hoek. The first chairman of the club was Jean Heilbron, and his vice-president was Henny van Eyck. On 16 November 1919 Voorwaarts played their first official match against the second team of RKVV Olympia which ended in a 4–0 loss. Sportvereniging Nationaal Leger, known as SNL, is the Surinamese football club of the national military, which currently plays in the SVB Topklasse. They play their home games in Paramaribo at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion. History Early years In 1926, the military football club M.V.V. (Militaire Voetbal Vereniging) was founded, out of which SNL amalgamated. Prior to the establishment of M.V.V. however, there was another football club of the Surinamese military, namely M.V.C.J. (Militaire Voetbal Club Juliana), founded in 1909. The club was founded by Captain Hirschman, who felt that playing football was an ideal military practice, training the capacity to oversee the dynamic on a playing field, while training speed and accuracy. Inter Moengotapoe
Inter Moengotapoe (sometimes rendered Inter Moengo Tapoe or just IMT) is a Surinamese football club, based in Moengo, Marowijne between Paramaribo and the border town of Albina. They play their home matches at the Ronnie Brunswijkstadion. Inter Moego currently compete in Eerste Divisie, and finished in 1st position in the 2018–19 season. History IMT was champion of Suriname 10 times, winning every year between 2006-07 and 2018–19 except for 2007–08, 2011–12 and 2017-18.
