2016–17 Richmond Spiders Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Richmond Spiders men's basketball team represented the University of Richmond during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Richmond competed as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference under 12th-year head coach Chris Mooney and played its home games at the Robins Center. They finished the regular season 19–11, 13–5 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for third place. Due to tiebreaking rules, they received the No. 3 seed in the A-10 tournament, where they defeated George Washington in the quarterfinals before losing to VCU in the semifinals. They received an invitation to the National Invitation Tournament, where, as No. 6 seed in the Iowa bracket, defeated No. 3 seed Alabama and No. 7 seed Oakland before falling to No. 4 seed TCU in the quarterfinals. Chris Mooney (basketball)
Christopher Scott Mooney (born August 7, 1972) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at the University of Richmond. Prior to taking the helm of the Spiders basketball program, he was the head coach at Air Force. In his only year there, he led the Falcons to their second best record in school history (18–12). He played college basketball at Princeton. As a four-year starter at Princeton, he ranks 22nd on the school's all-time leading scoring list with 1,071 points, and 11th in three-point field goals made (142). Early years and college Mooney was born and raised in working-class neighborhood in Philadelphia, spending his high school years at Archbishop Ryan High School as the child of a single father after his mother died from breast cancer when he was 13 years old. Lee High School (Huntsville, Alabama)
Lee High School is a four-year public high school that serves students in grades 9–12 from Huntsville, in Madison County, Alabama in the United States, as a part of Huntsville City Schools. History Lee High School was named for the Lee Highway (U.S. Route 72) that ran in front of the old school location in the 1950s, which, in turn, was named after Confederate and Union General Robert E. Lee. The school's mascot is now a 5-Star General and, for many years, a painting of General Robert E. Lee mounted on his horse and holding the Confederate flag was on the Gymnasium wall. In 1974 the flag was painted over and the Generals' mascot is now held to represent no specific person. Northeastern Huskies Men's Basketball
The Northeastern Huskies men's basketball team represents Northeastern University, located in Boston, Massachusetts, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. The team has competed in the Colonial Athletic Association since 2005 and has won two tournament titles, having previously played in the America East Conference, where they won seven tournament titles.
