2016–17 PlusLiga
The 2016–17 PlusLiga was the 81st season of the Polish Volleyball Championship, the 17th season as a professional league organized by the Professional Volleyball League SA ( pl, Profesjonalna Liga Piłki Siatkowej SA) under the supervision of the Polish Volleyball Federation ( pl, Polski Związek Piłki Siatkowej). The number of teams competing this season was increased to 16. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle won their 7th title of the Polish Champions. PlusLiga
The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 16 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship ( pl, Mistrzostwo Polski). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. Espadon Szczecin
KPS Stocznia Szczecin – was a professional men's volleyball club based in Szczecin in northwestern Poland, founded in 2014 under the name Espadon Szczecin. The club used to compete in PlusLiga, having been promoted to the highest level of the Polish Volleyball League in 2016. History In 2014, the club was founded by former volleyball player and owner of Espadon company, Jakub Markiewicz. The club, continued the tradition of volleyball in Szczecin, after previous club representing the city in the past – Morze Bałtyk Szczecin. In 2014, Espadon Szczecin took over assets, liabilities and paid off Morze Bałtyk Szczecin debts. In 2015, Espadon Szczecin joined PlusLiga and made its debut in the match with ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle on 30 September 2016. Marko Ivović
Marko Ivović ( sr-cyrl, Марко Ивовић; born 22 December 1990) is a Serbian professional volleyball player. He is part of the Serbian national volleyball team. The 2019 European Champion and the 2016 World League winner. At the professional club level, he plays for Dynamo LO. Career Clubs Ivović spent the 2013–14 season playing for Paris Volley. His team won the CEV Cup and he himself was named the ''Most valuable player'' of the final. In 2014, he moved to the PlusLiga team, Asseco Resovia. He won the 2014–15 CEV Champions League silver medal, having lost to Zenit Kazan in the final, and the 2015 Polish Champion title. Dawid Dryja (born 21 July 1992) is a Polish professional volleyball player, a bronze medallist at the 2015 European League and named the ''Best Middle Blocker'' of the tournament. At the professional club level, he plays for Jastrzębski Węgiel. Career Club In 2011, he signed a contract with Asseco Resovia. Lukáš Ticháček
Lukáš Ticháček (born 12 January 1982) is a Czech professional volleyball player with Polish citizenship, a former member of the Czech Republic national team. A bronze medalist at the 2013 European League, and the 2006–07 CEV Champions League winner. Personal life In 2014, he married Paulina. On 24 July 2015, his wife gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Mia. Career Clubs On 11 May 2011, he signed a two–year contract with Asseco Resovia. During these two years, he won two Polish Champion titles (2012, 2013). In 2013, his contract was extended for the next two years. John Gordon Perrin
John Gordon "Gord" Perrin (born 17 August 1989) is a Canadian volleyball player. He was a two–time Turkish Champion (2013, 2015). Perrin is a retired member of the Canada men's national volleyball team, participating in two Olympic Games (Rio 2016 & Tokyo 2020), as well as winning gold at the 2015 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship. Personal life Perrin was born in Creston, British Columbia to Dave Perrin and Ruth Boehmer. Thomas John Jaeschke (born September 4, 1993) is an American professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for the U.S. national team. He won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games Rio 2016. Personal life He is the son of John and Danielle Jaeschke. Thomas has a twin sister named Jaime and a brother named Joseph (1990) Jaeschke went to Wheaton-Warrenville South High School and reached the final of the Illinois state championship in 2010 and winning the finals in his senior season in 2012.
