Melbourne Renegades
The Melbourne Renegades are an Australian professional men's Twenty20 franchise cricket club based in Melbourne, the capital city of the Australian state of Victoria. They compete in the Australian Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League. The team is coached by David Saker and captained by Nic Maddinson. History Inaugural seasons (2011–2013) The Renegades' foundation captain was Victorian all-rounder Andrew McDonald and coached by then Victorian Bushrangers one-day coach, Simon Helmot. In their first season, the Renegades signed local state players such as Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Hodge and Dirk Nannes, along with Pakistani imports Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq. The Renegades struggled in their first season, only winning two games against the Sydney Thunder and the Sydney Sixers respectively. Aaron Finch scored 259 runs, whilst Shahid Afridi took 10 wickets. Simon Fry
Simon Douglas Fry (born 29 July 1966) is an Australian cricket umpire. In April 2020, Fry announced his retirement from elite umpiring. Umpiring career Fry served as an international umpire in ODIs for the first time in a match between Australia and England at Adelaide on 26 January 2011. He stood in his first T20I in a match between Australia and England at Adelaide on 12 January 2011. He was selected as one of the twenty umpires to stand in matches during the 2015 Cricket World Cup, where was an on-field umpire in three group stage matches. On 22 October 2015 he made his debut as an umpire in a Test match, standing in the game between Sri Lanka and the West Indies at Colombo (PSS). He stood in 100 First-class, 130 List A and 93 T20 matches. Geoff Joshua (born 12 March 1970) is an Australian cricket umpire. He has stood in matches in the Big Bash League tournament. He has also stood in women's One Day International matches in the 2014–16 ICC Women's Championship. Shawn Craig
Shawn Craig (born 23 June 1973) is an Australian former first-class cricketer, who is now an umpire. Playing career Craig played first-class cricket for the Victorian Bushrangers, debuting in 1996–97 after graduating from the Australian Cricket Academy. He was used for his part-time legspin and his middle-order batting. His finest knock with the bat was an unbeaten 128 in 1998–99. In his first-class career he averaged 31 with Victoria over the space of 20 matches, and was cut from the state squad after the 2001–02 season. Following this he became a prominent all-rounder in Victorian Premier Cricket, opening the batting for St Kilda Cricket Club. Luke James Wright (born 7 March 1985) is an English former cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler. Wright joined Sussex in 2004, having started his career at Leicestershire. He was named in England's squad for the Under-19 World Cup in 2004, and joined the International Twenty20 squad for the 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in September 2007. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Batters further down the batting order than the not out batters do not come out to the crease at all and are noted as ''did not bat'' rather than ''not out''; by contrast, a batter who comes to the crease but faces no balls is ''not out''. Mick Martell
Michael Douglas Martell (born 28 September 1966) is an Australian cricket umpire and former cricketer. Playing career Martell played 34 first grade matches in Western Australian Grade Cricket for Wanneroo and Bayswater-Morley. He later played for Balcatta Cricket Club in the WA Suburban Turf competition where he was the Champion Cricketer for the 2000–2001 season. Umpiring career After an arm injury cut short his cricket career, he took up umpiring. He made his debut at domestic level in October 2007 at one day level and at first-class level in October 2008. Michael Klinger
Michael Klinger (born 4 July 1980) is an Australian former first-class cricketer, who held the record for the most runs scored in the Big Bash League when he retired in 2019. Until the 2008–09 season, Klinger played for Victoria and for St Kilda Cricket Club in Premier Cricket. He joined the South Australia Redbacks for the 2008–09 season, was named their Captain in 2010, and was recognised as the State Player of the Year in both 2009 and 2010. He was one of the 350 players under the hammer for the IPL Auction 2011, and was bought by Kochi Tuskers Kerala. In 2014 he was recruited by the Perth Scorchers and then also played for Western Australia. In March 2018, he announced his retirement from first-class cricket. David Willey (cricketer)
David Jonathan Willey (born 28 February 1990) is an English international cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and bowler. He is the son of former England cricketer and international umpire Peter Willey. Personal life Willey married singer-songwriter Carolynne Willey in November 2016. Domestic career Northamptonshire Willey started his career playing for his home county Northamptonshire in the County Championship division two. Having come through the ranks at Northampton playing for O.N's and Northants Academy, he got his chance in the 2009 season aged 19 after a good pre season. His first game came against Leicestershire, the first game of the season against one of his father's old clubs.
