2016–17 Lille OSC Season
The 2016–17 season was Lille OSC's 73rd season in existence and the club's 17th consecutive season in the top flight of French football. This season Lille participated in the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League as a result of a 5th place finish in the 2015–16 Ligue 1. Lille finished mid-table this season. Lille Olympique Sporting Club (), commonly referred to as LOSC, LOSC Lille or simply Lille, is a French professional football club based in Lille, Hauts-de-France that competes in Ligue 1, the top flight of French football. Lille has played its home matches since 2012 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, the fourth-largest football stadium in France. The 50,186-capacity retractable roof venue replaced the club's previous home of Stadium Lille-Metropole. Lille was founded as a result of a merger between Olympique Lillois and SC Fives in 1944. Youssouf Koné (footballer, Born 1995)
Youssouf Koné (born 5 July 1995) is a Malian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Belgian Pro League club Molenbeek and the Mali national team. Club career Koné is a youth team graduate from Lille. He made his Ligue 1 debut on 2 March 2014 in a 3–2 away win over Ajaccio. His second appearance came on 12 April 2014, a league game against Valenciennes. Koné spent the first half of the 2017–18 season at Ligue 2 side Reims on loan after being loaned out by Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa. The full-season loan contract was terminated early when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Sébastien Mathieu Corchia (; born 1 November 1990) is a French professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Amiens. A French international, he gained one cap in 2016. Due to his French and Italian ancestry, Corchia holds dual nationality. Jean Butez (born 8 June 1995) is a French professional footballer who plays for Belgian club Antwerp as a goalkeeper. A prospect of the Lille academy, Butez made his breakthrough with Mouscron and signed with Antwerp in 2020. Mike Peterson Maignan (born 3 July 1995) is a French professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club AC Milan and the France national team.
