2016–17 GNK Dinamo Zagreb Season
The 2016–17 season is Dinamo Zagreb's 26th season in the Croatian First Division and 105th year in existence as a football club. This season was an extremely unsuccessful one for the club, losing both the league title and cup title to rivals HNK Rijeka and also failing to score a single goal in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League group stage, in all six matches they played. Građanski nogometni klub Dinamo Zagreb ( en, Dinamo Zagreb Citizens' Football Club, link=yes, italics=yes), commonly referred to as GNK Dinamo Zagreb or simply Dinamo Zagreb (), is a Croatian professional football club based in Zagreb. Dinamo play their home matches at Stadion Maksimir. They are the most successful club in Croatian football, having won twenty-three Prva HNL titles, sixteen Croatian Cups, six Croatian Super Cups, and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. The club has spent its entire existence in top flight, having been members of the Yugoslav First League from 1946 to 1991, and then the Prva HNL since its foundation in 1993. At the end of the World War II, the new communist government of Yugoslavia considered Croatian clubs like HŠK Građanski as fascist and nationalist, because they had operated under the former Independent State of Croatia, which was an Axis powers, Axis member during the war. Jorge Sammir Cruz Campos (born 23 April 1987), commonly known as Sammir, is a Brazilian-Croatian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Born in Brazil, Sammir became a naturalized Croatian citizen and has been capped seven times for the Croatia national football team. He was selected for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Josip Pivarić
Josip Pivarić (; born 30 January 1989) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Prva HNL side Lokomotiva Zagreb. Club career Dinamo Zagreb Pivarić joined the Dinamo Zagreb youth academy at a young age. He was promoted to the first team during the spring of 2008. He went out on loan to Dinamo feeder club Lokomotiva Zagreb that same year, making 13 appearances in his first season with the ''Lokosi''. Domagoj Pavičić
Domagoj Pavičić (born 9 March 1994) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Konyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig. Club career Pavičić joined Lokomotiva on two loans from Dinamo Zagreb in order to get first team chances. He scored his first goal for the club against Zadar in a 2-0 away win. After returning from loan, it was announced that he would debut against his old club Lokomotiva. He came in the match as a 74th-minute substitute for Junior Fernandes as Dinamo won the match 2-0. Arijan Ademi ( mk, Аријан Адеми; born 29 May 1991) is a professional footballer who captains Prva HNL side Dinamo Zagreb and plays for the North Macedonia national team. Ademi started his professional career at Šibenik, debuting for the senior squad on 22 March 2008, aged just 16 years. On 16 June 2010, he was transferred to reigning Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb. Amer Gojak (; born 13 February 1997) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Nemzeti Bajnokság I club Ferencváros and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Gonçalo José Gonçalves dos Santos (born 15 November 1986) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Paulo Ricardo Ribeiro de Jesus Machado (born 31 March 1986) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a central midfielder. Domagoj Antolić
Domagoj Antolić (; born 30 June 1990) is a Croatian footballer who plays for Damac as a midfielder. Club career Antolić was promoted to the GNK Dinamo Zagreb first team during the spring of 2008. He made his debut in the eternal derby, coming on as a last minute substitute, on 8 March 2008. Antolić made four more appearances that season, all as a substitute. The next year he went on a season long loan to Dinamo's farm side NK Lokomotiva, who were then in the second division.
