2016–17 Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament
The 2016–17 Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament, also called Adidas Next Generation Tournament by sponsorship reasons, is the 15th edition of the international junior basketball tournament organized by the Euroleague Basketball Company. As in past years, 32 teams joined the first stage, which are played in four qualifying tournaments between January and February 2017. The 2015–16 Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament, also called Adidas Next Generation Tournament by sponsorship reasons, is the 14th edition of the international junior basketball tournament organized by the Euroleague Basketball Company. As in past years, 32 teams joined the first stage, which are played in four qualifying tournaments between December 2015 and February 2016. The four group winners, Real Madrid as reigning champions and three wildcarded teams will join the Final Tournament, that will be played in Berlin on May 12–15. Luka Šamanić
Luka Šamanić (born 9 January 2000) is a Croatian professional basketball player for the Maine Celtics of the NBA G League. A power forward, he was drafted 19th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2019 NBA draft. A native of Zagreb, Šamanić started his youth career with the eponymous basketball club. In 2016, at age 16, he moved to Barcelona, Spain, where he joined the FC Barcelona's reserve team in the Spanish second-tier league. Canarias Basketball Academy is a basketball institute based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Its senior team currently plays in the Spanish Basketball Federation with their U18 and U16 teams. The junior team usually participates in the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Tournament. Pedro Barros (born 15 March 1995), known as Pedrinho Barros, is a Brazilian skateboarder who is specialized in Bowl and Park Skateboarding. He won the silver medal in the inaugural Olympic men's park skateboarding event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Eric Gonzalez-Diaz (born September 5, 1986 in San Juan de la Rambla, Canary Islands) is a former professional baseball player. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 24th round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of the University of South Alabama. He had previously attended Cochise Community College in Douglas, Arizona.
