2016–17 Brooklyn Nets Season
The 2016–17 Brooklyn Nets season was the 41st season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), 50th season overall, and its fifth season playing in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The season marked Brook Lopez's final one with the Nets, as he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in the off-season. He became the franchise's all-time leading scorer on April 10 when he broke Buck Williams' record that stood for 28 years. The Nets hired Kenny Atkinson after Lionel Hollins was fired during the middle of the previous season. General manager Billy King was also fired. Sean Marks took over as the Nets began rebuilding. They finished 20–62, their worst record since 2009–10. Kenny Atkinson
Kenneth Neil Atkinson (born June 2, 1967) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who serves as assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was previously the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2016 to 2020. Atkinson was born in Huntington, New York and played college basketball for University of Richmond leading the Spiders to a Sweet Sixteen berth in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 1988. Playing career Atkinson averaged 18.9 points per game during his senior season at Richmond and played professionally in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands from 1993 to 2004. The North Carolina Tar Heels Men's basketball program is the college basketball team of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Chris McCullough
Christopher A. McCullough (born February 5, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Formosa Taishin Dreamers of the P. League+. Prior to attending Syracuse University, McCullough went to Salisbury School, Brewster Academy, and IMG Academy. High school career McCullough attended Salisbury School for his freshman and sophomore years. Justin Anthony Hamilton (born April 1, 1990) is a Croatian-American professional basketball player for Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He plays the center position. College career Hamilton played college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones from 2008 to 2010 under Greg McDermott, and Louisiana State University during the 2011–12 season under Trent Johnson after being required to redshirt the 2010–11 season due to NCAA transfer requirements. Anthony Harris Bennett (born March 14, 1993) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Hsinchu JKO Lioneers of the P. League+. He played college basketball for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. Adam Philip Harrington (born July 5, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He most recently served as an assistant coach and the director of player development for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
