The 2016–17 season was AFC Bournemouth's second consecutive season in the Premier League and their 127th year in existence. AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth () is a professional association football club based in Kings Park, Boscombe, a suburb of Bournemouth, Dorset, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the highest division of English club football. Formed in 1899 as Boscombe, the club adopted their current name in 1971. Nicknamed "The Cherries", Bournemouth have played their home games at Dean Court since 1910. Their home colours are red and black striped shirts, with black shorts and socks, inspired by that of Italian club A.C. Milan. The club competed in regional football leagues before going up from the Hampshire League to the Southern League in 1920. Simon Charles Francis (born 16 February 1985) is an English former professional footballer who is assistant first-team technical director at AFC Bournemouth. As a player he was a defender who notably played in the Premier League for AFC Bournemouth who were the final team he played for, he spent eight years with the club with five coming in the top flight. Lewis John Cook (born 3 February 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for club AFC Bournemouth. Cook is a graduate of Leeds United's academy. He has represented England at various youth levels. Adam James Smith (born 29 April 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right back for club AFC Bournemouth. He has also represented England at under-21 level. Club career Tottenham Hotspur and loan moves Smith is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy. Bradley Shaun Smith (born 9 April 1994) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a left-back or winger for Houston Dynamo and the Australia national team. Born in Sydney, Smith moved to England to play youth football for Liverpool as a teenager, eventually making his professional debut for the side in 2013. Charles John Daniels (born 7 September 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Starting his career at Tottenham Hotspur, he experienced a number of loans before joining Leyton Orient. In 2012, he was signed by AFC Bournemouth, where he experienced promotion from League One and the Championship, staying with the club for the duration of the first spell in the Premier League. Max Gradel
Max-Alain Gradel (born 30 November 1987) is an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a winger or striker for Turkish club Sivasspor and the Ivory Coast national team. Gradel received his first call-up to the Ivory Coast national team in November 2010. He made his debut for the national side on 5 June 2011. Born in England, he represented the DR Congo national team on six occasions between 2017 and 2018.
