2016 Western Bulldogs Season
The 2016 season was the Western Bulldogs' 91st year in the Australian Football League (AFL). It was just their second year under coach Luke Beveridge, with Robert Murphy being appointed captain for the second year in a row. However, due to an injury Murphy suffered in the opening rounds of the season, Easton Wood took over the captaincy for the remainder of the year. The club's regular season began on 27 March against the Fremantle Dockers at Marvel Stadium. The Bulldogs finished off the home & away season with 15 wins and 7 losses, placing them at 7th on the ladder. The Bulldogs went on to win the 2016 AFL Grand Final, capturing their first VFL/AFL Premiership since 1954. 1923 VFA Season
The 1923 Victorian Football Association season was the 45th season of the Australian rules football competition. The premiership was won by the Footscray Football Club, after it defeated Port Melbourne by 14 points in the Grand Final on 1 October. It was the club's eighth VFA premiership, which meant that the club surpassed Geelong (L.) for the most premierships won in VFA history. Rule changes In 1923, the League and Association entered into a new agreement in which players could not transfer from one competition to the other without a clearance from his club and a permit from his current competition. Such a rule had existing prior to 1918, but since it had lapsed a refusal by one competition to permit a transfer was not binding in the other. Sam Darley (born 15 February 1993) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants and Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL He was one of the 's. Matthew Fuller (footballer)
Matthew "Matt" Fuller (born 31 January 1970) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. Playing career Fuller played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, St. George Dragons, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Western Reds, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats ( Heritage № 1045) (two spells) (captain during second spell), and the Western Suburbs Magpies - making appearances everywhere in the forward pack. Brett Goodes
Brett Goodes (born 17 February 1984) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is the younger brother of Sydney Swans dual Brownlow Medalist Adam Goodes. He played for North Ballarat in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and NT Thunder in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) before accepting a job with the Western Bulldogs as a player development manager. Whilst at the club, he played in the Bulldogs VFL reserves squad, Williamstown. Goodes played 40 games and kicked 27 goals for the VFL Seagulls in 2011 & 2012, including the 2011 VFL grand final loss to Port Melbourne. Ayce Cordy
Ayce Cordy (born 6 August 1990) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played with the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). The Bulldogs used their first-round selection, 14th overall, to secure Cordy after bid their first-round selection (pick 13) for him. Cordy's father, Brian, played 124 games for the Bulldogs in the 1980s. His brother, Zaine, currently plays for the Saints. Playing 27 games for the Western Bulldogs, Cordy was delisted at the end of the 2015 season. 2015 AFL Season
The 2015 AFL season was the 119th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 2 April until 3 October, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. Easton Phillip Wood (born 4 September 1989) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He grew up in Camperdown, Victoria while attending Geelong Grammar School. He was drafted with the 43rd selection in the 2007 AFL draft. He made his AFL debut in the 2009 AFL season, playing 2 games. Since then, Wood has been an AFL Premiership player and a AFL premiership captain, an All-Australian, a two-time Australian International Rules Series representative, and a Charles Sutton Medallist. Western Bulldogs
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition.
