The 2016 United States Olympic Team Trials for wrestling were held at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena of Iowa City, Iowa, on April 8–10, 2016. Tamyra Mariama Mensah-Stock (born October 11, 1992, Mensah) is an American wrestler who competes in women's freestyle wrestling. She won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics on August 3, 2021, and became the first black woman to win gold in women's freestyle wrestling. Mallory Maxine Velte (born March 4, 1995) is an American freestyle wrestler. She is a two-time bronze medalist at the World Wrestling Championships.
