Lee Valley VeloPark
Lee Valley VeloPark is a cycling centre on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, England. It is owned and managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, and it was opened to the public in March 2014. The facility was one of the permanent venues for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Lee Valley VeloPark is at the northern end of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It has a velodrome and BMX racing track, which have been used for the Games, as well as a one-mile (1.6 km) road course and 5 miles (8 km) of mountain bike trails. The park replaces the Eastway Cycle Circuit demolished to make way for it. The facilities built for the Olympics were constructed between 2009 and 2011. Matthew Glaetzer (born 24 August 1992) is an Australian track cyclist. Career He competed in the team sprint event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and won the 2012 World Championship in the team sprint with Scott Sunderland and Shane Perkins. Glaetzer represented Australia in the men's sprint, men's keirin, and men's team sprint events at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On 12 November 2017, at the World Cup competition in Manchester, Glaetzer became the first rider ever to break the 1:00-minute mark for 1 km time trial, at sea level velodrome. Pavel Kelemen (born 28 May 1991) is a Czech racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI Continental team . In 2011 Pavel Kelemen was part of the Czech team sprint team at the European Championships in Apeldoorn, together with Denis Špička and Filip Ditzel. The team finished in 8th. In 2012, Kelemen was nominated by his federation to take part in the London Olympics for the Men's sprint competition. Fabian Hernando Puerta Zapata (born 12 July 1991) is a Colombian track cyclist. He competed in keirin at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and in keirin at the 2011 Pan American Games where he won a gold medal. Kenny is the holder of most Olympic gold medals (7) and medals (9) for a British athlete. Maximilian Levy (born 26 June 1987) is a German former track cyclist. Levy won a bronze medal in the men's team sprint representing Germany at the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won another bronze in the men's team sprint, and a silver in the men's keirin. He was the world champion in keirin 2009 and in the team sprint 2010, 2011, and 2013.
