2016 Tour Du Haut Var
The 2016 Tour du Haut Var was a road bicycle racing, road cycling stage race that took place on 20 and 21 February 2016. The race was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour, and was the 48th edition of the Tour du Haut Var. The overall race victory was decided upon cumulative stage finishes, after ten riders finished both stages in the same time; with a stage win and a second-place finish, Arthur Vichot took honours in both the general classification and the points classification for the team. Second place in the overall standings went to Jesús Herrada () with finishes of fourth and second, while the podium was completed by 's Diego Ulissi, with finishes of fifth and sixth. 2016 UCI Europe Tour
The 2016 UCI Europe Tour was the twelfth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2016 season began on 28 January 2016 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 23 October 2016 with the Chrono des Nations. French rider Nacer Bouhanni (), who scored 721 points in the 2015 UCI Europe Tour, 2015 edition, was the defending champion of the 2015 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. Alexis Vuillermoz (born 1 June 1988) is a French road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career He was originally a mountain bike racer before switching to road cycling, winning the French national under-23 mountain bike title twice and riding as part of the French national team that took the team relay title at the 2008 Mountain Bike World Championships. He was a member of the team that competed at the 2013 Tour de France, finishing the race 46th overall. Patrick Bevin (born 15 February 1991) is a New Zealand professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Personal life Bevin grew up in Taupō. He moved to Cambridge in 2014 when the Avantidrome opened to train with the High Performance team of BikeNZ. His sister Kate is an elite martial artist. Francesco Gavazzi (born 1 August 1984) is an Italian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career Gavazzi was born in Morbegno. In 2012, Gavazzi participated in the Tour of Beijing and won its queen stage leading to the Great Wall of China.
