The 2016 season was Terengganu Football Association's 6th season in the Liga Super and the 21st consecutive season in the top-flight of Malaysian football. Terengganu Football Club is a professional football club based in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, Malaysia, that competes in Malaysia Super League, the first division of Malaysian football league system. Nicknamed "The Turtles", the club was founded as Terengganu Amateur Football Association on 22 November 1956, changed its name to Terengganu Football Association in 1972 and Terengganu Football Club in 2018. The club had won major trophies in Malaysian football. Domestically they had won 1 Malaysia Cup, 2 Malaysia FA Cup, 1 Malaysia Charity Shield, 2 Malaysia Premier League titles and 1 FAM League title. Amirizdwan Taj
Amirizdwan Taj Bin Tajuddin (born 30 March 1986), commonly known as Taj, is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as a centre back and capped by Malaysian national team. Born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Taj never seriously play football at his youth where he attended MRSM Gerik and later MRSM Kuala Terengganu. His football career began while completing his undergraduate studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA where he played for UiTM FC. Joseph Kalang Tie (born 9 March 1987) is a Malaysian footballer who plays and serves as captain for Kuching City in the Malaysia Premier League. He formerly played for the Malaysia national team. Mohd Sharbinee Allawee bin Ramli (born 7 December 1986) is a Malaysian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Sarawak United. Muhammad Zubir bin Mohd Azmi (born 14 November 1991) is a Malaysian football player who plays for Malaysia Premier League club Kelantan as a left-back. Juan José Morales (born May 13, 1982 in Bella Vista, Tucumán, Argentina) is an Argentine football forward. Career A native of Tucumán province, Morales (also known as ''Jota Jota'') began his football career with local side San Martín de Tucumán.
