2016 Serbia OQT Basketball Team
The 2016 Serbia OQT basketball team represented Serbia and won the spot for the 2016 Summer Olympics at the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in their capital, Belgrade. They were qualified for the Qualification tournament by taking the 4th place in the EuroBasket 2015. The team was coached by Aleksandar Đorđević, with assistant coaches Miroslav Nikolić, Milan Minić and Jovica Antonić. Serbia Men's National Basketball Team
The Serbia men's national basketball team ( sr, Кошаркашка репрезентација Србије, Košarkaška reprezentacija Srbije) represents Serbia in international basketball competition and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia. Serbia is currently ranked sixth in the FIBA World Rankings. From 1992 to 2003, the national team played under the name of FR Yugoslavia and from 2003 to 2006, under the name of Serbia and Montenegro in international tournaments. Following the Montenegrin declaration of independence in 2006, Basketball Federation of Serbia retained the place of Basketball Federation of Serbia and Montenegro as a FIBA member. Bogdan Bogdanović ( sr-cyr, Богдан Богдановић; born 18 August 1992) is a Serbian professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Boris Babacar Diaw-Riffiod (born April 16, 1982), better known as Boris Diaw, is a French basketball executive and former player who is the president of Metropolitans 92 of LNB Pro A.
