2016 Santa Rosa Local Elections
Local elections were held in Santa Rosa City on May 9, 2016 within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, and ten councilors. Overview Incumbent Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas is term-limited; she will run for representative of the 1st District of Laguna instead. Incumbent Congressman Dan Fernandez is running for Mayor under Liberal Party. His opponents are incumbent Vice Mayor Arnel Gomez, a nominee under Nationalist People's Coalition, and Alicia Lazaga under Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan. Gomez is Mayor Arcillas's running mate in 2010 and 2013 who decided to run for Mayor despite being eligible to run for a third consecutive term. Danilo Fernandez
Danilo Ramon Subiaga Fernandez (born January 14, 1966), more commonly known as Dan Fernandez, is a Filipino politician, actor, and optometrist who is currently serving as a representative of the Lone District of Santa Rosa, Laguna at the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 2022. He previously represented the 1st District of Laguna from 2007 to 2016 and again from 2019 to 2022; he also concurrently served as a Deputy Speaker from 2019 to 2020. Prior to his election in the Congress, he served as a board member of Laguna, Vice Governor of Laguna under Governor Teresita Lazaro, and Mayor of Santa Rosa. Aksyon Demokratiko ( ) or simply Aksyon is a political party in the Philippines founded by Raul Roco.
