2016 OFC U-20 Championship
The 2016 OFC U-20 Championship was the 21st edition of the OFC U-20 Championship, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for players aged 19 and below (despite the name remaining as U-20 Championship). This year, the tournament was held in Vanuatu for the first time by itself (second time overall). Despite the name remaining as U-20 Championship, the age limit was reduced by a year to 19 years of age. So players who wanted to participate in the tournament needed to be born on or after 1 January 1997. At an OFC Executive Committee meeting held at its Auckland headquarters in November 2013 the competition format was modified. The competition was brought forward a year and the age limit was lowered to 19 years of age. Myer Bevan
Myer Stefan Major Bevan (born 23 April 1997) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a forward for Canadian club Cavalry FC and the New Zealand national football team. Club career Early career Bevan played in his native New Zealand with Western Springs before moving to Auckland City, where he made his first-team debut on 28 February 2016, as an 86-minute substitute against WaiBOP United. Talatala Po'oi
Talatala oe Toetu Po'oi (born 30 March 1997) is a Tongan Track and field, Athlete who has represented Tonga at the Commonwealth Games, Pacific Games, and Pacific Mini Games. He has also been a member of the Tonga national under-20 football team. Po'oi is from Neiafu (Vavaʻu), Neiafu in the province of Vavaʻu. In 2016 he was selected as a member of the Tonga national under-20 football team for the 2016 OFC U-20 Championship. He played in the match against the Cook Islands national under-20 football team, Cook Islands. At the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila he won gold in the 110 metres hurdles and bronze in the 400 metres hurdles. At the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia he won silver in the 110 metres hurdles. Luganville
Luganville is the second largest city in Vanuatu after the capital Port Vila; it is located on the island of Espiritu Santo and has a population of 18,062 as of the 2020 census. The Vanuatu national under-20 football team is the national U-20 team of Vanuatu and is controlled by the Vanuatu Football Federation. It was known as the New Hebrides national under-20 football team until 1980, when the New Hebrides gained their independence and renamed their country to Vanuatu.
