2016 Moto2 World Championship
The 2016 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 68th Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, F.I.M. Road racing, Road Racing World Championship season. The season was marred by the death of Luis Salom during a free practice session, at the 2016 Catalan motorcycle Grand Prix, Catalan Grand Prix. Johann Zarco started the season as the defending World Champion, having secured his first championship title at the 2015 Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix, 2015 Japanese Grand Prix. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. Álex Rins Navarro (born 8 December 1995) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer for the LCR Honda Castrol in the MotoGP class. He was the 2011 CEV Buckler 125 Junior GP Champion, and made his Grand Prix motorcycle racing debut in the Moto3 World Championship during the season. Career Moto3 World Championship Born in Barcelona, Rins began his career in Moto3 with the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team. In his second meeting, Rins took pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix. Lorenzo Baldassarri (born 6 November 1996) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer, currently competing for GMT94 Yamaha in the 2023 Superbike World Championship. The 2016 Dutch TT was the eighth round of the 2016 MotoGP season. It was held at the TT Circuit Assen in Assen on 26 June 2016. Race report MotoGP It was the first Dutch TT held on Sunday, instead of the traditional Saturday date for the race. is a Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing for LCR Honda Idemitsu in MotoGP. He won the Japanese Road Race Championship 125cc class in 2006 and J-GP2 class in 2011. Career Early career Born in Chiba, Nakagami joined the Japanese Road Race Championship in the GP125 category in 2005 joining the Harc-Pro Honda Team finishing 13th as a rookie in the series.
