2016 Men's International Festival Of Hockey
The 2016 Men's International Festival of Hockey was a field hockey tournament held in Victoria, Australia. The tournament was held between 23–30 November in the Victorian cities, Melbourne and Bendigo. A total of four teams competed in the tournament. Australia won the tournament for the first time by defeating New Zealand 3–1 in the final. India won the bronze medal by defeating Malaysia 4–1 in the third and fourth playoff. Akashdeep Singh (born 2 December 1994) is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Uttar Pradesh Wizards in the Hockey India League and the India hockey team. Career Born in Verowal, Tarn Taran, Punjab, Singh started to play hockey in secondary school before joining the Guru Angad Dev Sports Club. He then joined the PAU Hockey Academy in Ludhiana in 2006 before joining the Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar. In 2013, Singh was auctioned to the Delhi Waveriders of the Hockey India League. After three seasons with Delhi, Singh was signed by the Uttar Pradesh Wizards for $84,000. International Singh was the captain of the youth India hockey sides and has represented India senior side. Christopher Bausor (born 10 November 1989) is a field hockey player from Australia, who plays as a midfielder. Personal life Chris Bausor was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. He studied (but unconfirmed if finished) a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Western Australia. Hugo Inglis (born 18 January 1991) is a New Zealand field hockey player who plays as a forward for the New Zealand national team. He played for the Southern Dogs in the New Zealand Hockey League and he played in Europe for SCHC, Braxgata and currently Rotterdam. He also represented the Uttar Pradesh Wizards in the Hockey India League. Club career Inglis started playing hockey when he was five and he joined his local hockey club the Southern Dogs. In 2012 he signed a two-year contract at SCHC in the Netherlands.
